Work with the community
As well as providing affordable and good quality homes, Moseley and District also works in partnership with local communities and other agencies to provide training and employment opportunities and support services for residents.
The Jericho Foundation
The Jericho Foundation helps people to overcome social and economic barriers to become fulfilled, skilled and employed. The Foundation provides training and employment-related programmes that are funded through a combination of public sector contracts and grants from grant-making trusts, corporate donors and individuals.
The Jericho Foundation works with Moseley and District on the RIGHT project and resident workshops.

The Right Project
The RIGHT Project was a partnership between Moseley and District, the Jericho Foundation and the Balsall Heath Forum, and was funded by the City Housing Partnership. It provided employment support, vocational training and work experience for Moseley and District residents. RIGHT stands for restoring independence (through) gardening, horticulture (and) training. Through the project, residents worked towards employment and independent living. The RIGHT Project also aimed to support other residents of Moseley and Balsall Heath who were unable to tend their garden due to disability, illness or not having the means.
After its inception in June 2009, the project worked with over 40 residents, helping many to gain valuable work experience in catering, printing, horticulture, plus CV writing. For some, it gave the opportunity to try out voluntary work for the first time; others received help getting onto courses, while other were able to get into paid work.
More than 20 residents boosted their work experience by securing a placement at one of Jericho’s businesses. At Jericho Landscape, residents gained hands-on experience in maintaining gardens and public spaces. Residents were also able to make and then use hanging baskets to decorate Moseley and District properties. The project has been a huge success.
