Landlord launches support group for residents affected by anti-social behaviour
Residents of a Birmingham housing association who are worried about anti-social behaviour in their neighbourhoods are being invited to raise their concerns at a new support group.
Moseley and District Housing Association, which manages more than 1,400 homes in the south and west of the city, has launched the group in partnership with the local police and other organisations.
The group, which will meet four times a year, is open to any Moseley and District resident who is experiencing or has come across anti-social behaviour in their community.
Attendees will be able to get vital and confidential information and support at the meetings as well as listen to guest speakers from organisations such as the police and Victim Support.
They will also be kept up-to-date on the latest national and local policies and procedures for tackling anti-social behaviour.
Peter Helly, a Housing Officer for Moseley and District Housing Association, said: “From time to time some of our residents may experience anti-social behaviour, which can range from fly-tipping to noise nuisance.
“We want residents experiencing this kind of behaviour to feel confident in reporting it to us and we also want them to understand what we can do to resolve problems.
“We take anti-social behaviour very seriously and we are committed to working in partnership with other housing organisations and the police to tackle it.”
The next meeting will take place on 24 April, 2012. For more information about the support group, or to attend the next meeting, call Peter Helly on 0121 442 5030 or email peter.helly@moseleyha.org.uk
To report anti-social behaviour, residents can call 0300 111 7000.
Moseley and District Housing Association, founded in 1966, provide affordable and rented accommodation to people across Birmingham. It is part of the Accord Group of housing associations, one of the largest housing associations in the West Midlands.
